Oliver+S bucket hat

I fell in love with the colours in this stripe fabric and knew I wanted to make a bucket hat from Little things to sew.

I was so eager I dived straight into cutting without measuring her head, so it is a little tight, but I still love it.  This no hand stitching tutorial made things easier.

I used different weight fabrics but it didn’t seem to matter.

Side note: Has anyone else noticed the designer fat quarters in Big W? Designer fat quarters! At Big W! The selection is quite random, but it is so exciting to see what’s there. This week they had a quite a few from Lizzy House Castle Peeps (the castles and the peeps!).

Fabric: Stripe fabric is Bozoku Cotton Duck #4 from Spotlight. Red fabric is a fat quarter of Robert Kaufman Daisies & Dots – red daisies and ribbons collection from Big W.

    • Hi Ruth! I just love that book. I can’t wait till my little one is a bit bigger and I can try the tutu and the riding hood cape. If you can, make sure you measure head size before cutting! I’ll need to make another soon, but that isn’t such a bad thing. 🙂
